Charlamagne Tha God Issues Cease and Desist to Trump: Details on the Ex-President’s New Ad Featuring The Breakfast Club Co-Host

Charlamagne Tha God has reportedly served a cease and desist letter to Donald Trump following the former president’s use of edited segments from The Breakfast Club in his recent advertising campaign. This new ad included excerpts from an episode where Charlamagne expressed his concerns about taxpayer funds being allocated for gender-affirming surgeries for inmates.

As outlined by the Legal Information Institute at Cornell Law School, a cease and desist letter serves as a warning to an alleged offender, detailing the supposed infringement and requesting that it be halted. Additionally, it warns that legal action may follow if the disputed activity does not cease.

It appears that Charlamagne Tha God initiated this cease and desist order due to Trump’s campaign utilizing content from his podcast without obtaining permission beforehand. Moreover, the 30-second advertisement presented only edited fragments from his conversation, omitting the full context.

According to All HipHop, Charlamagne has actively pursued the removal of the advertisement and stated:

“Cease and desist been sent. Since when does Trump care about what’s legal!?”

On September 30, 2024, Charlamagne Tha God addressed Donald Trump’s political advertisement, which claimed that Kamala Harris supports the funding of gender transition surgeries for inmates using taxpayer dollars.

“That ad [Trump] was running during the football games this weekend, claiming the vice president supports funding gender transition surgeries for all prison inmates and migrants in the U.S, that was nuts,”said the radio host on The Breakfast Club.

The advertisement criticized Kamala Harris, beginning with a narration that alleges she has backed taxpayer-funded sex reassignment surgeries for prisoners.

“Surgery for prisoners. Every transgender inmate in the prison system will have access,”the ad showed Harris saying during an interview with the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).

The ad’s narrator indicated that the support Harris purportedly expressed for state-funded sex reassignment surgeries was surprising, even among liberal media outlets.

“Kamala’s for they/them. President Trump is for you,”the narrator added.

In discussing the advertisement’s effect on The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne Tha God remarked:

“I don’t know if it was the backdrop of football, but when you hear the narrator say Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners, I was like, ‘Hell no. I don’t want my taxpayer dollars going to that.’

In a 2019 campaign questionnaire (reported by CNN), Kamala Harris emphasized the necessity of care for non-binary and transgender individuals. She expressed her commitment to ensuring federal prisoners and ICE detainees receive surgical as well as other medical care for gender transition.

“Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment,” she stated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

As the race intensifies between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, there remains less than a month until the presidential election day on November 5, 2024.
