“You don’t get to yell at me like that”— Chappell Roan shares experience with photographer at 2024 MTV VMAs

This encounter at the premiere isn’t the first time Chappell Roan has taken a stand against a photographer in a public setting. On September 11, 2024, during the pre-show of the 2024 MTV VMAs held at the UBS Arena, the Pink Pony Club singer similarly confronted a photographer.

A clip from the incident circulated widely on social media, attributed to Variety’s Instagram post. In the footage, a voice from the crowd can be heard saying, “shut the f*ck up,”prompting Chappell Roan to react. In the video shared by Variety, she can be seen pointing at a photographer while declaring:

“You shut the f*ck up. Don’t. Not me, b*tch!”

Chappell’s fierce reply earned her cheers from the audience, with one spectator enthusiastically urging, “You tell ’em, girl.”Shortly after, Chappell elaborated on her feelings during an interview with Entertainment Tonight regarding the same fashion event.

Describing her experience as “quite overwhelming and quite scary,”she conveyed:

“I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying. And I yelled back. I yelled back! You don’t get to yell at me like that.”

“This is a clue”— Chappell Roan hints at upcoming track via Instagram

On the same day, October 25, 2024, Chappell Roan shared a collection of Polaroid images on Instagram, each featuring the phrase “She Gets the Job Done.”The singer remarked that the attire displayed in the photos is part of her merchandise line, and her caption included:

“This is a clue. Just let that sink in.”

Having debuted her album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in 2023, Chappell confirmed her collaboration with producer Daniel Nigro on an upcoming project. In a Rolling Stone interview dated September 10, 2024, she revealed that they have already produced five to six songs together.

Chappell shared insights about the music they’re creating:

“We have a country song. We have a dancy song. We have one that’s really Eighties, and we have one that’s acoustic, and we have one that’s really organic, live-band, Seventies vibe. It’s super weird.”

Beyond the excitement surrounding her new music, Chappell Roan has also made headlines for her TikTok comments about supporting Kamala Harris and her decision to cancel performances in Washington, D.C. and New York City in September 2024. She mentioned feeling the need to prioritize her health amidst various pressures.
