Switching Archetypes in Metaphor ReFantazio
Much like the Velvet Room in the Persona franchise, the Akademia serves as the hub for customizing and enhancing the Archetypes you have acquired. Here, you can also learn new Archetype Skills to better equip your team for future conflicts.
As you delve deeper into the narrative, you will naturally gain Rank 1 Bond with More, a character responsible for unlocking the Bright-Eyed Student ability. This powerful ability enables you to alter the Archetypes of your main character and allies at the Akademia.
After acquiring the Bright-Eyed Student ability, speak with More at any time within the Akademia to explore the Archetype Tree. You have the option to reassign Archetypes for your party members or the main character by utilizing Magla (MAG) as a currency.
Transitioning to different Archetypes grants access to a multitude of team synergies, since you can modify your party’s core stats, skills, equipment, and affinities during combat. This feature encourages players to try out various play styles and discover what works best for them.
Unlocking New Archetypes in Metaphor ReFantazio
In Metaphor ReFantazio, you can gain access to new Archetypes by boosting your Bond with Followers and advancing through your Social Links as you progress.
There are 14 fundamental Archetypes that can be unlocked by forming relationships with characters and achieving Rank 1 Bond, while Enhanced Archetypes become available as you further develop Bond ranks and upgrade the base Archetypes.
To improve Bond ranks, you will also need Magla (MAG), which will be significantly more demanding at the higher stages of Archetype upgrades. Engage in battles to level up your Archetype, and obtain MAG either through victories or by trading money at designated vendors throughout your adventure.
Since leveling up high-tier Archetypes demands considerable time and grind, it is advisable to experiment with different team combinations using the base Archetypes before committing to upgrades for those that align with your preferred playstyle.
