“Challenging to Relive”— Love Is Blind’s Ramses Reflects on His Breakup with Marissa During the Reunion

On October 2, 2024, the seventh season of Netflix’s Love Is Blind debuted, culminating in two couples tying the knot. The following reunion episode aired on October 30, 2024, bringing together those who successfully formed relationships and highlighting those who faced challenges, including those who did not reach the altar.

Unfortunately, many fans were disheartened to see that Marissa and Ramses fell into the latter group. Their relationship appeared solid throughout their journey, but during the finale, Ramses revealed that he struggled to envision a future with Marissa. The emotional parting was marked by Marissa discarding the engagement ring onto the floor.

During the reunion episode, hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey addressed the breakup between Marissa and Ramses. When asked about the emotional impact of revisiting the breakup scene, Ramses shared his discomfort with watching Marissa’s vulnerability, moments he hadn’t witnessed in real-time.

“I found myself needing to pause several times because I hadn’t seen her reaction during her solo interviews. Watching her come apart was incredibly hard,”Ramses remarked.

Ramses sensed a disconnect with Marissa during their Love Is Blind journey

The reunion hosts further questioned Ramses regarding his decision to end things with Marissa. He indicated that while their relationship started on a positive note, he began to perceive a distance as they progressed through their time together.

“I gradually became aware of the significant gap in our energies, noticing a lack of balance that I initially sensed in the pods,”Ramses explained.

In attendance was Marissa’s mother, Vanessa, who recounted the moment Ramses called off the wedding. Vanessa admitted she felt like “punching him in the throat,” but ultimately approached him to understand the reasons behind his choice.

Grateful that Ramses chose to end the engagement, Vanessa prioritized her daughter’s happiness above all, stating that was her main concern.

She expressed that it would have been more beneficial had Ramses communicated his doubts to Marissa sooner, allowing her the opportunity to mentally prepare for the possibility of a split.

As Ramses waited until just days before the wedding to voice his concerns, Vanessa felt he emotionally wounded Marissa, necessitating her support to help her move forward.

Marissa echoed these sentiments, stating she felt sidelined during their breakup on Love Is Blind. She sensed a lack of partnership with Ramses, as he didn’t make efforts to address misunderstandings or grow with her in their relationship.

Ramses acknowledged his shortcomings in communication regarding his emotions, expressing regret upon reflecting on the situation after watching the show.

“I understand the effects it can have, and I would never impose that on her,”Ramses clarified.

He further noted that the couple had engaged in multiple discussions regarding contraception, ultimately coming to an agreement that worked for both.

Don’t miss the chance to watch the reunion episode for season 7 of Love Is Blind on Netflix.
