Warning: This article contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man chapter #192
The second part of Chainsaw Man is approaching the chapter count of its initial arc, leading fans to speculate that the series may be entering its final climactic phase. Protagonist Denji has faced significant challenges recently, enduring heartbreaking losses including the death of Nayuta and mistreatment from Yoru. These events have arguably placed the series in one of its darkest periods. However, chapter #192, titled “How Devils Play, ”has sparked a renewed sense of hope among fans as it hints at the comeback of one of the franchise’s most cherished characters.
Chainsaw Man Teases the Return of the Blood Devil
Denji’s Promise to Power Has Finally Been Addressed

Power, known as the Blood Devil and a fan favorite, last made her appearance in chapter #91, aptly titled “Power, Power, Power.”In that chapter, she compelled Denji to promise he would search for her after her reincarnation. Since her demise, Power’s presence has mostly lingered through flashbacks or subtle hints in conversations. However, over 100 chapters later, Chainsaw Man revisits Denji’s pledge, confirming his ongoing commitment to find the Blood Devil.

During a conversation with Yoru, which might just be the most bizarre date in history, Denji reflects on his profound losses, namely Nayuta and Power. Despite the understanding that both the Control and Blood Devils exist out there, he recognizes that neither will be the same as before. This candid moment is both intimate and heart-wrenching, presenting a rare glimpse into Denji’s psyche, which typically shies away from deep, painful experiences. The sudden reference to Power, coupled with the series’ accelerating plot, hints that the Blood Devil’s reappearance may be imminent.
What Will the Blood Devil’s Reemergence Mean for Chainsaw Man?
The Current Blood Devil Will Not Be the Same Power

In the universe of Chainsaw Man, when devils meet their end, they are resurrected without memories of their previous existence. While the potential return of the Blood Devil is undoubtedly exciting for its expansive fanbase, it also carries the risk of bittersweet encounters. Despite the series’ dark themes, creator Tatsuki Fujimoto is known for weaving uplifting motifs into his narratives. Consequently, the new incarnation of the Blood Devil could emerge as an adversary, although such affectionate relationships between devils remain uncommon.
It remains uncertain how Fujimoto will handle Power’s return. However, should the new Blood Devil retain even a fraction of Power’s memories, she could be the supportive ally Denji has desperately needed since her departure over four years ago. As Chainsaw Man approaches its climax, the mention of Power in this latest chapter may signal her significant role in the concluding arc—regardless of the form she assumes. Until then, Denji must navigate his challenges with Yoru while striving to avoid becoming a weapon in his quest to locate the Blood Devil.
