Enhanced safety protocols as fans gear up for Jimin’s birthday celebration in Busan
A report by Busan Ilbo noted that around 1:50 PM on October 11, a gathering of international fans congregated in Daeyeon-dong, Nam-gu, taking photos in front of the cafe owned by Jimin’s father, Mr. Park.
These fans have arrived to commemorate the birthday of the ‘Who’ singer. At the cafe’s entrance, gifts and flowers from supporters worldwide, including Hungary, Ukraine, Mexico, Japan, and China, have started to accumulate.
“I came down to Busan early because I thought it would be too crowded on the weekend,”a BTS fan commented.
As the milestone approaches, local authorities and law enforcement are ramping up safety measures in anticipation of the expected large crowds at the cafe.
According to Busan Ilbo, the Nam-gu Office estimates that up to 3,000 fans may visit ZMILLENNIAL to celebrate this year. An official from the Nam-gu Office pointed out that as many as 400 individuals might gather near the cafe at any time.
Following the Itaewon disaster in 2022, local government leadership has taken on the responsibility for managing safety at events that lack organizers. For festivals predicted to attract significant crowds, these leaders are mandated to create safety management plans and carry out necessary initiatives.
The Nam-gu Office is boosting on-site safety through the deployment of 36 personnel, including staff from the disaster situation room. With numerous fans arriving in large buses, traffic control measures are crucial. The police are also assisting in managing illegal parking.
“Given that BTS Jimin’s birthday falls on a weekend this year, we have allocated more safety personnel than in previous years,” an official shared.
An official from the Nam-gu Office’s Safety Management Division added:
“We are committed to ensuring safety by overseeing parking on the shoulder, addressing illegal parking, and managing crowd levels.”
Currently, Jimin is fulfilling his mandatory military service as a Korean citizen and is expected to be discharged in 2025.
