Exciting Developments in The Witcher Franchise: Full Production Begins
Today, CD Projekt made a significant announcement for fans of The Witcher series during its recent financial earnings call. The studio revealed that the next installment in this beloved franchise has now transitioned into full-scale production, marking the start of an ambitious trilogy of role-playing games (RPGs).

Michał Nowakowski, the joint CEO of CD Projekt RED, expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating, “I’m proud to confirm that several weeks ago the Polaris team wrapped up pre-production and moved on to full-scale production – the most intensive phase of development.” He also took a moment to thank the team for their hard work and dedication to the project.
Nowakowski elaborated on what this transition entails, noting that the goals and plans established during pre-production will now be actively pursued. “Although it’s an oversimplification, entering the production phase means we have a substantial portion of the game developed, validating key concepts,”he explained. “We can now expand the entire game in accordance with our plans.”

In a message shared on social media, the new project director, Sebastian Kalemba, conveyed his excitement, stating:

Further details provided by the company included a breakdown of staff allocation across various projects. Currently, the new Witcher trilogy employs around 400 developers, a number expected to increase as production progresses.
In addition, 64 developers are dedicated to Project Orion, the much-anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, while The Witcher spin-off developed by The Molasses Flood has a team of 42. An additional 18 developers are engaged in a new, enigmatic project codenamed Hadar.

In related news, CD Projekt reported impressive sales figures for Cyberpunk 2077, revealing that it has surpassed 30 million copies sold in less than four years. Moreover, the game’s expansion has already achieved eight million copies sold, highlighting the continued popularity of the franchise.
