Carlos Alcaraz all smiles as he shows off his new haircut ahead of Monte-Carlo Masters 2024
Ahead of the Monte-Carlo Masters on 8 April, Carlos Alcaraz’s new haircut has been revealed, just in time for the start of the clay season.
At the Miami Open, the Spaniard made it to the quarterfinals but was ultimately eliminated by Grigor Dimitrov, who is now in the final after beating Alexander Zverev in the semifinals.
Following the conclusion of the Miami Open, Alcaraz has shifted his focus to the upcoming clay season. Ahead of the Monte-Carlo Masters, the Spanish player has debuted a new haircut, showcasing a fresh look. His hometown barber, Victor, based in Murcia, Spain, shared the new haircut on social media.
The social media post depicted Alcaraz sitting in the salon with a wide smile, showcasing his new haircut. Though not a drastic change from his previous hairstyle, he had chosen to go for a buzz cut fade on the sides. The accompanying caption read:
“Ready to Monte-Carlo @carlitosalcarazz”
“Reflecting on my defeat: Insights from Carlos Alcaraz after losing to Grigor Dimitrov”
During his post-match press conference, Carlos Alcaraz shared that he informed his team afterwards that he was unsure of what actions to take and was unaware of Grigor Dimitrov’s vulnerabilities.
“I have a lot of frustrations right now, because he made me feel like I’m 13 years old (smiling). You know, it was crazy. I was talking to my team saying that I don’t know what I have to do. I don’t know his weakness. I don’t know anything,”Alcaraz said.
The 20-year-old is set to begin his clay season at the Monte-Carlo Masters, marking only his second appearance at the tournament in his career. In 2022, he played in the Masters 1000 event for the first time and faced a 6-7(2), 7-6(5), 3-6 defeat against Sebastian Korda.
Alcaraz was unable to participate in the 2023 tournament due to experiencing physical discomfort following his defeat to Jannik Sinner in the semifinals of the Miami open. However, the 20-year-old will have the opportunity to defend his title at the upcoming clay-court events, including the Barcelona Open and Madrid Open.
