Cardi B, a 32-year-old Grammy Award-winning artist, took to Instagram Live on Monday, October 21, to voice her anger towards a prank caller who reportedly contacted child protective services, alleging that her children were in danger.
During the broadcast, which saw her in a hospital bed, the rapper stated:
“Let me make this crystal clear because I can hardly breathe right now. People have really crossed the line when it comes to messing with my kids.”
She further added:
“I’m going to get to the absolute bottom of this, alright? For people to make a prank call like that is inexcusable.”
Cardi expressed her dissatisfaction about how child protective services showed up unexpectedly at her home around 11 PM, disturbing her children who were asleep. She declared that the prank had left her extremely distressed.
She went on to explain that she had been unwell for several days and had been in the hospital since Saturday. Cardi emphasized that this prank crossed a line too far. Noting that her family is the only family of color in the area, she stated:
“I assure you, I am going to sue CPS for coming to my home at whatever time they felt like it.”
Additionally, Cardi B voiced her intent to take legal action against the individual or individuals behind this prank. She mentioned that she would consider hiring a private investigator to uncover who caused this distress. Discussing her ex-husband Offset, she said:
“You can play with my motherhood or my ex-husband’s role as a father, but we don’t tolerate any of that. My kids live well. They’ve never been harmed or disciplined physically, no matter how irritating they can be.”
During her live session, Cardi elaborated on the significant financial investments she makes in her children’s childcare and education. She disclosed that Kulture’s schooling costs $45,000, while her newborn’s nanny expenses total $700.
“If you’re a boy, my baby father is going to beat you up,”Cardi B declared in her tirade against the prankster.
In her live broadcast, Cardi B recounted the CPS visit at her home to check on her children. After asserting her commitment to caring for her kids and spending more on them than on herself, she insisted that she would track down the source of the prank.
As the session progressed, the Grammy winner stated:
“If you’re a boy, my baby’s father is going to beat you up. If you’re a girl, my sister Hennessy and I will take care of you because you’re endangering my children.”
Continuing her criticism, she maintained that such matters should not be treated lightly. Cardi B has three kids with her former partner Offset: Kulture, Wave, and their newborn daughter.
Media outlets have reached out to both child protective services and Cardi B’s representatives for further information regarding the incident.
