Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem Takes Center Stage at the Gamescom 2025 Awards

Gamescom, a prominent annual event in the gaming industry, celebrates excellence through its dedicated awards program. These awards are determined by an independent jury tasked with recognizing outstanding contributions such as games, expansions, exhibitions, booths, merchandise, and noteworthy announcements. The official regulations outline the awards’ mission, reflecting the industry’s commitment to innovation and creativity.

This year’s Gamescom, held in 2025, saw Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem dominate the awards, emerging as the standout title among the nominees. It was one of only three games to receive multiple accolades, highlighting its impressive reception from both the jury and the gaming community.

Resident Evil Requiem secured victories for Best Visuals, Best Audio, Most Epic Game, and Best Sony PlayStation Game, showcasing its technical prowess and engaging gameplay. Other winners included the indie title Hela, which received the awards for Most Entertaining and Most Wholesome, alongside Anno 117: Pax Romana, recognized for Best PC Game and Best Booth—though the booth recognition was shared with its developer, Ubisoft.

Another highlight of this year’s awards was the recognition of Hollow Knight: Silksong, which won Best Trailer. Notably, this award was unique as it was determined by a public vote rather than the jury, illustrating the game’s broad appeal and anticipation within the community.
