“Can’t believe I messed this” – Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian laments as his pancake avatar of American goes horribly wrong
Despite his best efforts, Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian’s attempt to create a pancake avatar of his wife ended in failure. The Reddit co-founder expressed his disappointment as he shared the result with his followers on social media.
Ohanian has transformed the act of making pancakes for his family into a time-honored tradition. He regularly posts pictures and videos showcasing his pancake creations. This tradition was initially sparked by his father Chris, who used to make pancakes for the Ohanian family every Sunday during the Reddit co-founder’s childhood. Ohanian has continued the beloved ‘Papa Pancakes’ tradition to this day.
Despite the entrepreneur’s best efforts, his most recent pancake experiment did not yield the desired results. For this attempt, Ohanian decided to create a pancake in the likeness of his wife Serena Williams, complete with a representation of her during her prime years as a 23-time Grand Slam winner and holding a Wilson racquet.
Regrettably, Ohanian’s pancake-flipping skills were not up to par, resulting in a messy and broken pancake. The 40-year-old took to social media to share a photo of the pancake with the caption:
“Can’t believe I messed this flip up!”
Serena Williams Spotted at Miami Open Cheering on Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov
Williams was in attendance at the Miami Open for the men’s singles semifinal matches, where Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov competed. Sinner played against Daniil Medvedev, while Williams’ friend Dimitrov faced off against Alexander Zverev.
The 42-year-old had a conversation with Sinner after the Italian’s dominant victory over Medvedev. Williams also had a chat with Dimitrov, who had beaten Zverev to advance to the final against Sinner.
During her conversation with Sinner, Williams expressed her admiration for the Italian’s forehand and wished her own was as strong. She also commended Sinner for his incredible achievement of winning his first Grand Slam title at this year’s Australian Open, where he made an impressive comeback from being two sets down to defeat Medvedev.
“I wish I hit my forehand like that. Seriously, the racquet speed, the power, I was like ‘Wow, night and day.’ You’re unbelievable. Congrats on Australia,”Williams told Sinner (via ATPTour.com).
When asked about his interaction with Williams after defeating Zverev in the semifinals, Dimitrov stated that he remains in regular contact with the 23-time Grand Slam champion, as he had previously mentioned to the press.
“We nearly speak on a daily basis. She said, ‘I’m gonna come watch’. I was like, ‘Okay.’ It’s always very humbling to have such a supporter in your corner and she came, we had a little chat. I remember she was even here when I had my first Top 10 win. It was a very nice moment. I think we both remember that. It’s friendship, man. I think this is the best part,”Dimitrov said during a press conference (via ATPTour.com).
