Insights into Early Pricing of PowerColor and XFX Radeon RX 9070 GPUs
AMD’s AIB partners appear ready to launch the highly awaited Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs. Although we are approximately one month away from their anticipated release to retail, certain retailers have already begun showcasing customized editions. This move aligns with prior demonstrations from AMD’s partners at CES, indicating strong market readiness.
Despite a series of launch delays, attributed mainly to ongoing optimizations of the driver stack, AMD is eyeing a March launch for the RX 9070 GPUs. As of now, the prominent Canadian retailer Canada Computers had listed various custom RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models on their website. Notable brands included PowerColor and XFX, revealing early pricing patterns, although the listings have since been removed.

It is essential to recognize that these pricing figures may merely serve as placeholders, with potential adjustments as the official launch date approaches. The PowerColor RX 9070 GPUs commenced at CAD $839 for their Reaper edition (approximately $586), whereas the premium Red Devil edition is priced at CAD $919 or $642.

A glance at the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT models shows a starting price of CAD $999 (around $698) for the Reaper edition, escalating to CAD $1, 239 or $836 for the Red Devil variant. Comparatively, XFX’s lineup is positioned slightly higher, with their entry-level RX 9070 priced at CAD $949 (approximately $664).The cheapest model in the XFX RX 9070 XT series, the Swift White Gaming edition, starts at CAD $1, 099 or $769.
While these prices are not set in stone, should they materialize as indicated, it could significantly impact AMD’s market strategy. Reports suggest AMD may adopt a more aggressive pricing approach, potentially leading to lower market rates than those currently observed. It’s also vital to note that AIB models generally carry a higher MSRP than their reference counterparts. For the most accurate pricing information, it is advisable to await AMD’s official announcements.
