Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies enthusiasts are gearing up for the imminent launch of a new round-based experience, and anticipation is soaring. The upcoming map, known as The Tomb, has garnered significant enthusiasm, although critiques regarding the franchise’s reliance on artificial intelligence persist. Heavy metal enthusiasts are thrilled about the music teaser that has been unveiled, while lore aficionados are eager to delve deeper into the story of Richtofen and the enigmatic Sentinel Artifact. Additionally, players who enjoy gameplay nuances are hopeful for a nostalgic nod to Origins, adding to the excitement. However, a significant enigma surrounding The Tomb is its Wonder Weapon.
So far, players in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies have encountered a blend of new and returning Wonder Weapons to combat the relentless waves of undead. The classic Ray Gun makes a return, and even TranZit’s long-awaited Jet Gun has received a well-deserved upgrade. Compounding the intrigue, the Beamsmasher introduces an innovative gameplay strategy, enticing players to first weaken foes with its secondary fire before finishing them off with its primary laser. Furthermore, Citadelle Des Morts features four elemental swords that enhance the map’s overall aesthetic. As anticipation for the new Wonder Weapon builds, one option has emerged as a leading contender.
What Might CoD Zombies’ Tomb Wonder Weapon Be?

In a recent announcement to commemorate 115 Day, Treyarch hinted that The Tomb’s Wonder Weapon will be a “reimagined” version drawn from the franchise’s rich history. Players are left to speculate on the possibilities, with several notable candidates for the returning Wonder Weapon:
- Elemental Staves
- Ray Gun Mark 2
- wonder weapon DG-2
- Thundergun
- VR-11
- Scavenger
- 31-79 JGb215 (Baby Gun)
When considering the thematic elements of The Tomb, there are compelling arguments for various Wonder Weapons to make an appearance. For instance, the Thundergun and Baby Gun could easily be imagined as tools left at the excavation site to either clear debris or shrink it, while the Scavenger fits the bill as a dynamite-like gun suited for the Dark Aether. Moreover, since the VR-11 appeared recently in MWZ, Treyarch may have the resources to refine this once-controversial weapon, similar to their enhancements of the Jet Gun. Yet, the most anticipated candidate would undeniably be the elemental staves, a hallmark of the iconic Origins map.
Players can expect that, whether included in The Tomb or not, the Ray Gun Mark 2 and Wunderwaffe will eventually return, as they have been mentioned in the game’s code by data miners.
There is a strong possibility that Treyarch will reintroduce all four elemental staff variants from Origins, as hints have been dropped regarding a “nod” to this classic location during the 115 Day tease. Given that both Origins and The Tomb revolve around excavation themes, the return of elemental staves—or even the introduction of new staff variants—seems highly plausible. Additionally, a playful comment from Treyarch beneath a fan’s ice staff illustration, stating it is “definitely not highlighting” the project “for any particular reason,” adds further fuel to the fire of speculation regarding a staff’s appearance in The Tomb.
The Tomb’s Leaked Wonder Weapon Information Offers Flexibility for Treyarch
Additionally, leaks from Twitter user @Nanik0s, discussed by prominent YouTubers specializing in Call of Duty Zombies, have added credence to the staff theory. Within the codes, the new Wonder Weapon is dubbed a “Torch,” and mock-ups suggest a staff-like design. Allegedly, it will include four stones that can be inserted to provide unique effects, hinting at a return to the successful four-variant approach that allows varied gameplay experiences within multiplayer.
If the thematic elements of the map, suggestive teasers from Treyarch, and the leaked design of the “Torch” weren’t enough to evoke nostalgia for Origins, one of the weapon’s rumored abilities certainly will. It seems the Torch will have the potential to generate healing orbs, likely benefiting both teammates and users by temporarily increasing health or replenishing it, reminiscent of the Life Mend ammo mod. There is speculation that these orbs might even offer revives for fallen allies, echoing the revival mechanic from the upgraded staves of Origins. While it’s possible that the developers are intentionally misleading fans with these references and datamined details, the likelihood leans towards introducing a true successor to Zombies’ beloved staves.
