Responding to player reactions, Treyarch has enacted a reversal on the much-debated Zombies Directed Mode adjustment in the latest update of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This recent patch aims to enhance gameplay experiences on the Citadelle des Morts map and optimize certain Ammo Mods.
The January 3 update for Black Ops 6 marked a pivotal change in Directed Mode by increasing the interval between rounds and introducing a delay in zombie spawns after the fifth loop on round 15. This alteration sparked frustration within the community, as it hindered players from efficiently farming kills and completing camouflage challenges. As concerns mounted regarding potential further restrictions on XP gains and rewards, Treyarch promptly took notice of the community’s discontent following the update’s implementation.
On January 9, Treyarch outlined the corrections made in the recent Black Ops 6 update. They acknowledged that the changes to the zombie spawn delays had made gameplay “not fun” and confirmed a restoration to the previous spawn delay of approximately 20 seconds after five rounds. Additional fixes addressed technical issues on the Citadelle des Morts map, ensuring smooth progression through the main quest and rectifying various visual and crashing bugs associated with the Aether Shroud’s Void Sheath Augment.
Moreover, this update enhances the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod with four new buffs. Activation rates have been raised, with normal enemy rates now at 20% and special enemy rates at 7%. For elite enemies equipped with the Big Game Augment, the activation rate has also increased to 7%, alongside a reduction in cooldown time by 25%. These updates aim to make the Shadow Rift a more formidable option for gamers in future sessions.
Looking ahead, Black Ops 6 Season 2 is set to kick off on January 28, when players can expect additional bug fixes and gameplay changes. Until then, players are encouraged to tackle the Citadelle des Morts main quest to maximize their rewards before the conclusion of Season 1 Reloaded.
