Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 “The Cradle” Mission Guide – Tips for Completion and Rewards

The Cradle in Black Ops 6 marks the fifth mission in the Campaign mode of the game. In the previous mission, Case, Adler, Marshall, and Park successfully neutralized the SAM Sites in Iraq for the SAS. After this operation, Case returns to the base camp to consult with the captain and kick off the mission dubbed “The Cradle.”The core objective here is fairly straightforward: Case and his team need to infiltrate Saddam Hussein’s hidden palace to secure a clandestine weapon, referred to as “The Cradle”.

Even though the mission appears simple, players may overlook crucial elements if they stick to a strictly linear approach. Additionally, the difficulty ramps up, particularly if you’re tackling the mission on higher settings. This guide aims to offer insights into completing the fifth mission, “The Cradle,”in Black Ops 6 effectively.

Objectives in “The Cradle”Mission of Black Ops 6 Campaign

The primary focus of the “The Cradle”mission in Black Ops 6 consists of stealthily entering Saddam Hussein’s palace and acquiring vital items. This mission can be segmented into four key objectives:

  • Gain entry to Saddam Hussein’s palace.
  • Access the bunker.
  • Secure “The Cradle”.
  • Escape and demolish the palace.

Gaining Entry to Saddam’s Palace

The mission initiates with a thrilling action sequence as the team breaks through the palace gates and confronts immediate enemy resistance. Engage and eliminate all foes in the front yard. Utilize the main entrance and favor the left flank for added cover.

You’ll discover a staircase leading to an upper floor. Head up this way, where a radio and a locker containing cash await. Note the locker code: 0872.

Continue battling through the palace until you reach the backyard. It’s advisable to stick to the left side, as it allows for better cover and reduces the number of enemies confronting you. Progress until you reach the compound’s end, where you will encounter intense resistance, including a Juggernaut.

Consider deploying the Chopper Gunner to ease the encounter. This can significantly simplify the fight, mainly on higher difficulty settings like Hardened or Veteran. Once you have subdued the enemies, you’ll find a room featuring red walls that grants access to the Bunker.

Securing The Cradle

Upon reaching the Bunker entrance, you will be ambushed by soldiers equipped with gas weapons. It’s crucial to maintain a safe distance and eliminate them before they can engage in close combat, which can lead to a swift defeat. Always prioritize shooting towards enemies attempting to close in.

Enter the Bunker alongside Marshall and Adler, clearing out the guards positioned on the lower levels. Follow your teammates through the Bunker until you arrive at the final chamber.

At the room’s center, there will be an orange box on a table waiting for you to interact with it. Inside, you’ll find a bioweapon sample. Once collected, you will receive orders for backup from above. The Bunker also provides an Ammo Refill box and an Equipment Refill station, ensuring you are fully stocked for the impending fight above.

Exiting the Palace

As you exit, you’ll need to navigate through waves of Iraqi soldiers and Pantheons. Take them down as you advance. Locate the rope that leads up to the terrace, where you’ll encounter more troops to eliminate. Prepare for a large group of enemies to converge on your position; staying on the rooftop is essential for your defense.

Enemy helicopters will make an appearance, so find the HE-1 Launcher located next to some boxes on the terrace, and use it to take them down. Clear the enemies on the ground, and prepare for the next wave that will spawn directly in front of you. Stay vigilant, as they’ll be armed with RPGs and sniper rifles, giving them a tactical advantage.

Unlike the individual soldiers, this new wave will pose a greater threat, making cover essential during the fight.

Eliminate all opponents, and if necessary, grab the DM-10 available on the rooftop. An LMG can also be found here, which will enhance your chances of survival. Nevertheless, anticipate another helicopter appearing, which you should target with the HE-1 Launcher as well.

Once the final helicopter has been dealt with, an SAS helicopter will arrive on the terrace. Board it to successfully complete the mission.

Mission Rewards for “The Cradle”in Black Ops 6

Upon finishing the “The Cradle”mission in the Campaign of Black Ops 6, players will earn the “Onyx Echo” Weapon Blueprint for the LR 7.62 Sniper Rifle. It’s worth noting that the difficulty level you choose to complete this mission does not impact reward eligibility; you’ll receive this unique Blueprint for use in Multiplayer mode regardless.

This concludes the essential information regarding the “The Cradle”mission in Black Ops 6.
