Bungie hints at the return of two classic Exotic missions in Destiny 2
Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 Into the Light will include numerous vaulted items such as weaponry, armor, and shaders. Some highly sought after weapons from Year 1 and 2 will be making a comeback, and will be available to all players at no cost. Additionally, two beloved Exotic missions from the early years of the game will also be making a return, as confirmed by the company.
The last Into the Light livestream is scheduled for April 2, 2024 at the weekly reset time. Viewers can receive emblems as drops and learn more about the expansion. The official TWID blog post on March 28 unveiled the upcoming content of the stream.
Possible Return of Zero Hour and Whisper in Destiny 2
Bungie has announced that two Exotic missions from Destiny 2, Zero Hour and Whisper, will be returning in the upcoming expansion Into the Light. The name of the third mission, which may include the Harbinger quest for Hawkmoon, has yet to be revealed.
The official statement from Bungie regarding the third livestream’s upcoming content remains unchanged.
“We still have more news to share next week about Destiny 2: Into the Light! Our dev team will gather for a third livestream on April 2 at 10 AM PT to finish the series with a bang. Here’s a quick summary of the topics we will touch on: The return of two classic Exotic missions. A preview of the three new PvP maps arriving in May. A new PvE challenge we call Pantheon.”
Many are speculating that the two upcoming missions, Zero Hour and Whisper, will be considered classic Exotic missions. Despite Beyond Light’s Harbinger for Hawkmoon also fitting this description, it was met with negative feedback from the community.
The return of both missions also includes the crafting patterns for the Whisper of the Worm Sniper Rifle and the Outbreak Perfected Pulse Rifle.
Despite facing significant backlash, Bungie remains firm in its decision to time-gate certain weapons until May 21, 2024. This controversial move has sparked widespread outrage among the gaming community, once again straining the already tense relationship between players and the company. Bungie has yet to address the ongoing controversy and provide a statement on the matter.
Destiny 2 Into the Light has been scheduled for release on April 9, 2024.
