Bully Ray admits “snipers” were present during controversial WWE moment

Bully Ray, a Hall of Famer, recently shared a surprising disclosure about a contentious WWE incident that occurred several years ago.

Throughout the years, WWE television has witnessed numerous controversial moments that have left fans questioning their legitimacy in the realm of kayfabe. Examples include CM Punk’s infamous pipebomb promo and The Miz’s scathing attack on Bryan Danielson (formerly known as Daniel Bryan). However, one incident in particular stands out as exceptionally controversial, having occurred in 1996.

At WWF In Your House: Mind Games 1996, hosted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Paul Heyman, the owner of ECW, made a surprise appearance with a few of his stars. He used his voice to express his thoughts on WWE (then WWF) to Bruce Prichard.

The segment took a sudden turn when Sandman unexpectedly tossed a beer at Savio Vega, causing a chaotic scene as only a select few were aware of the planned stunt. This resulted in the entire locker room rushing out.

Upon being reminded by a fan on social media, Bully Ray disclosed that on the night in question, there were actually three ECW “snipers”present in the audience as a precautionary measure in case of any unforeseen incidents.

“And what absolutely NOBODY knew, including WWE officials, was there were 3 ECW “snipers” sitting in the crowd incase anything went down.”

Bully Ray Criticizes Mercedes Martinez’s Appearance on AEW Dynamite

Despite only being with AEW for a few weeks, Mercedes Mone is already part of a storyline with Willow Nightingale and Julia Hart. During the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes made an appearance as a commentator. However, Bully criticized her commentary abilities, stating they were not up to par.

On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray commented that while Mercedes is strong in delivering promos, she may not be as strong on commentary.

“Mercedes on the microphone in the ring, a lot stronger than Mercedes at commentary. I would’ve liked to have heard Mercedes project a little more, give some more of her opinion on things. Mercedes just felt kind of out there tonight and other than the stare-down with Willow at the end, I’m not sure what she brought to the table other than the arrival shot, entrance, and sitting out there which is sometimes all you really need.”

It will be intriguing to observe whether Mercedes will eventually compete for the TBS Championship.
