On October 8, RM from BTS expressed his heartfelt thanks via Instagram to those who attended the premiere of his documentary Right People, Wrong Place at the Busan International Film Festival. Despite serving in the military, he took to his social media, sharing gratitude through a trio of Instagram Stories while informing fans about the documentary’s unveiling.
Although Namjoon couldn’t be present for the screening, the documentary crew represented him at the event. In one of his posts, RM conveyed a touching message to the fans who showed up in droves to witness the first screening. He uploaded a photograph featuring the five-member production team amidst a sizable audience, with a caption saying:
“Thank you to everyone who came.”
This gesture resonated with numerous fans, as the premiere drew a large crowd eager to experience the debut of the documentary and celebrate his artistic milestones.
Fans’ Support Appreciated by BTS’ RM at Documentary Premiere
The first screening of RM’s documentary Right People, Wrong Place took place at the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in an outdoor venue. Despite torrential rain and fierce winds, ardent fans persevered through uncomfortable weather conditions to witness the historic debut of the first K-pop documentary featured at this esteemed festival.
The festival commended the film, characterizing it as:
“A making-of-album film and a very special journal of youth.”
The creative team behind the film, featuring director Lee Seok-joon, assistant director Im Soo-bin, and music director Junkyard (JNKYRD), represented Namjoon in his absence. In a moving second Instagram story, RM reshared a speech of gratitude delivered by director Lee Seok-joon.
During his speech, Lee conveyed his immense gratitude to the audience and everyone who supported him in various ways, emphasizing that their encouragement empowered him to craft the film. He articulated:
“Thank you to those who traveled to Busan and to all who have supported me, directly and indirectly, through traditional cinema. Your influence has been significant in my life, and I am sincerely grateful. Because of you, I was able to create this film successfully. To everyone who participated or viewed today, thank you. This film belongs to all of you. Thank you.”
In his final Instagram story, RM provided insights about the global release of the documentary, scheduled for December 2024. The documentary offers an intimate look into his life during the eight months leading to his military enlistment in December 2023.
