BTS Jin’s ‘Super Tuna’ Hits No. 1 on iTunes in 50 Countries Globally

On October 11, 2024, BTS member Jin’s full version of “Super Tuna”achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the No. 1 spot across 50 countries on the iTunes Worldwide music chart. The song made a strong debut, securing the top position not only on the Worldwide iTunes Songs Chart but also on the European iTunes Song Chart, highlighting the immense international popularity of this male artist.

For those who may not know, Jin initially released the original version of “Super Tuna”on December 4, 2021, accompanied by a music video. The official streaming and audio launch followed on October 21, 2022. The music video featured the artist dancing on a beach alongside two background dancers. On October 11, he introduced an extended version of the song.

After the release of the full version of “Super Tuna,”the track swiftly ascended to the No. 1 position on the iTunes US Top Songs Chart in under twenty-four hours. Additionally, it claimed the top rank in various countries within the same chart, including Armenia, Argentina, Australia, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Honduras, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, United States, Uzbekistan, Romania, Singapore, New Zealand, Latvia, and several others.

The music video for “Super Tuna”trended at No. 2 on YouTube globally, amassing 2.5 million views and later exceeding 700,000 likes. Jin also made a comeback to the Top 50 of the Global Digital Artist Ranking Chart, marking yet another achievement in his career.

In celebration of Jin’s recent success, his dedicated fanbase, ARMY, expressed their joy by sharing numerous snippets and trending various hashtags such as ‘SUPER TUNA OUT NOW,’ ‘SUPER TUNA DOMINATION,’ and ‘CONGRATULATIONS JIN,’ to show their unwavering support for the artist online.

In another development, on August 8, 2024, Jin was appointed by the creative director Sabato De Sarno as the global brand ambassador for the luxury Italian fashion brand Gucci. Sarno expressed his enthusiasm in an Instagram post, stating:

“I am very excited to welcome Jin as Global Brand Ambassador. His warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique. Recently, Jin wrapped up his mandatory military service, being discharged on June 12, 2024, after completing 18 months of active duty. He has since launched a South Korean variety show, “Run Jin,”which is available for streaming on the official BANGTAN TV channel.

Moreover, he has been named the first male brand ambassador for the well-known domestic cosmetics and skin-care brand Laneige, where he will feature in a campaign promoting the brand’s best-selling 2-in-1 Skin moisturizer and toner.
