According to Ten Asia’s report on October 14, 2024, Kim Seok-jin of BTS is poised to release his much-anticipated solo album in November. The Grammy-nominated musician completed his mandatory military service on June 12, 2024, and has been diligently working on his solo projects since that time. He recently unveiled the full version of his hit track, “Super Tuna,”on October 11.
In a statement, BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed the release plans for Jin’s album:
“Jin is currently in the process of preparing an album set for a November launch. We will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available.”
This announcement has sent fans into a frenzy, with social media lighting up with enthusiasm. His upcoming album will serve as his official solo debut, though he did release his first solo single, “The Astronaut,”on October 28, 2022, prior to enlisting in the military on December 13, 2022, for an 18-month service commitment.
An excited fan expressed their thoughts on X:

Super Tuna (Extended Version) Takes Over iTunes Charts
The “Super Tuna (Extended Version)”was released on October 11 and quickly rose to the top of both the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart and the European iTunes Song Charts, maintaining its No.1 position for two consecutive days. According to Star News, the song has soared to the top of the iTunes Top Song Chart in 57 different countries and regions, including major markets like the US, Japan, Brazil, and Australia.
Furthermore, on October 11, “Super Tuna (Extended Version)”reached the pinnacle of Japan’s Oricon ‘Daily Digital Single Ranking.’ This is significant for the BTS ARMY, as Jin humorously requested during a Weverse live stream on October 10, 2024, that they refrain from sharing or streaming the song excessively. This request stems from an inside joke between him and his fans, recalling how ARMYs propelled the original version of “Super Tuna”to global trending status back in 2021.
The original “Super Tuna,”lasting just a minute, was launched on December 4, 2021, coinciding with Jin’s birthday. It aired on South Korean children’s programs such as Teletubbies, Pororo, and Baby Shark Pinkfong, breaking into the Top 10 Hot Trending Songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and garnering over 29 million views on YouTube for its music video in 2021.
After completing his military service on June 12, 2024, Jin re-recorded the full version of “Super Tuna”and released it along with an official music video, showcasing him expressing his whimsical desire to catch a tuna, mackerel, or even a shark.
In other developments, BTS’ Jin has recently been named the global ambassador for renowned luxury brands such as FRED, Gucci, and LANEIGE.
