BTS’ Jin Shares How ARMYs Bring Him True Happiness in Recent Interview

BTS member Jin recently participated in an enlightening interview with Vogue Japan, discussing several topics including the challenges of working solo, his aspirations, and the essence of happiness. Released on Thursday, October 24, 2024, the interview highlights happiness as Jin’s core focus in life. His much-anticipated upcoming album, aptly named Happy, reflects this sentiment, as he credits his supporters, affectionately known as ARMY, as his true source of joy.

The renowned artist shared,

“For me, the most vital aspect of life is happiness. My fans, the ARMY, are the ones who bring me joy. If I can make ARMY members happy, their joy reciprocates back to me. I find the motivation to continue for them (laughs).”

In addition to discussing happiness, Jin elaborated on his future ambitions that encompass both his fellow BTS members and their fanbase.

He stated,

“It’s my goal to bring joy to ARMY. As long as they are happy, I can push myself to the limit. At the moment, I’m deeply engaged in fulfilling that dream.”

Jin discusses the challenges of releasing a solo album without his bandmates

On the same date, Vogue Japan released insights from Jin, who is preparing for his first solo album, Happy, which is set to launch on November 15, 2024. This release has garnered significant excitement within the K-pop industry, marking Jin as the last BTS member to debut a solo project.

In the interview, he candidly expressed his feelings about the unique challenges posed by working independently outside the dynamic of BTS.

He mentioned,

“When I’m on my own, every task falls on my shoulders. While this allows for more creative freedom, it also brings about a different kind of pressure. In a group setting, I feel supported, and my worries are lessened, as my members are there with me.”

Reflecting on his younger years during Vogue Japan’s 25th anniversary, Jin was asked what advice he would offer his younger self. He remarked that at 25, he often complained about work, and he wished he could tell his younger self that worry does not alter outcomes. Nevertheless, he believes such counsel might not have had any real impact at that time.

He reflected,

“Honestly, I doubt it would have made a difference. As I age, my perspective shifts naturally. I suspect that in another decade, I might want to guide my present self in return (laughs).”
