Jin Shares Updates About Himself and His Bandmates in the Military
Having been the first BTS member to enlist in December 2022, Jin completed his service on June 12, 2024. After his return, j-hope was discharged on October 17, while the rest of the members continue to serve.
During his appearance on The K-Star Next Door, Jin recounted some humorous stories from his military experience and the bond he maintains with his fellow BTS members. When host Jonathan inquired about his military journey, Jin revealed how his bandmates sought his support and wisdom as they faced their own enlistments.
He explained that his bandmates frequently contacted him out of anxiety about beginning their service, looking to him for advice since he had already navigated the initial challenges. However, in a humorous twist, he noted that their military placements were arguably tougher than his own.
Jin stated:
“I told my members not to worry so much. I assured them things would improve with time. After they enlisted, they were assigned to various units. Within a week or two, they were calling me, saying their units were completely different from mine. Their units were significantly tougher, while mine was easy.”
As the episode concluded, Jin was prompted to send a motivational message to his fellow BTS members still serving in the military. He offered encouraging words:
“You’ll have to do your best. Do your best. You can do it.”
Moreover, he shared his perspective on interactions with fellow soldiers, noting that he “never reprimanded his juniors.”He added that he couldn’t understand why some would act harshly, stating, if juniors are unsure about something, “just teach them again.”He promoted a sense of camaraderie by sharing snacks and goodies with his subordinates.
In exciting news, Jin is set to appear on comedian Jang Do-yeon’s YouTube talk show, Salon Drip 2, with the episode scheduled to air on November 5, 2024.
