BTS’ JIN Reveals Friendship with Renowned South Korean Chef Baek Jong-won: “I Meet Him the Most Among My Friends”
On Tuesday, October 29, BTS member JIN made an appearance on the South Korean variety show K-Star Next Door to promote his upcoming solo album, Happy. During this episode, he had an engaging conversation with host Jonathan about a range of topics, including fellow BTS member j-hope’s military discharge, the music videos related to his upcoming album, his journey with BTS, and more.
In addition, JIN performed a live rendition of his pre-release track, I’ll Be There. Their discussion also included insights into JIN’s recent friendships, particularly highlighting his close bond with renowned South Korean chef and media figure Baek Jong-won.
When Jonathan probed further into their friendship, JIN shared that he considers Baek Jong-won a true friend for a number of reasons. Although JIN prefers texting, Baek Jong-won makes an effort to call him regularly to stay connected.
JIN mentioned that they communicate almost every day, emphasizing their common interests, such as playing the same video games. He noted that Baek Jong-won is one of the friends he spends the most time with.
Here’s what he shared:
“I can truly say Baek Jong-won is my best friend. I’ve never met someone quite like him. He calls me daily. While I tend to text more and don’t often make calls, he makes sure to call me if I send him a message. We also enjoy playing the same games together and he’s one of the friends I hang out with the most.”
While on K-Star Next Door, BTS’ JIN discussed his solo career, j-hope’s military service, and more
On October 29th, Jin appeared on K-Star Next Door alongside host Jonathan, where they explored various subjects, including the immense popularity of BTS. When Jonathan asked JIN about the moment he recognized the group’s fame, he shared his reflections on success.
Here’s how he responded:
“It’s something I’ve never really experienced firsthand. After all our hard work, we’ve reached this point, but at no moment have I ever felt truly successful.”
The conversation then shifted towards military service. Jonathan asked JIN about his emotions during j-hope’s discharge, especially the moment when all the members gathered to welcome him. With humor, JIN recounted how the members were late, making him wait for quite some time inside the camp.
“I was waiting for them. They were late. I had to stay inside and wait, geez. They were far away. But it was understandable.”
He also shared some insights about the military experience of other members, mentioning that their units were reportedly much tougher and more disciplined compared to his own. As Jonathan noted that the other members would be returning from service soon, JIN jokingly corrected him, saying they still had hundreds of days left before their discharge.
Finally, JIN addressed j-hope’s military discharge, mentioning:
“Hobi told me it was fine if I didn’t attend, but it’s difficult for other members to take vacation days. Considering this, I figured that no one would be able to attend Hobi’s discharge, so I adjusted my schedule to be there.”
Meanwhile, JIN is eagerly awaiting the launch of his first solo album, Happy, which is set to release on November 15 at 2 PM KST.
