BTS’ Jimin has been awarded the title of Music Platinum Player by the American magazine The Hollywood Reporter, recognizing his impressive solo music releases in 2024. Jimin, who has been fulfilling his military obligations since December 2023, launched his second solo album, MUSE, in July 2024, garnering praise from a wide array of fans and music enthusiasts.

The Hollywood Reporter released a list of 25 artists whose music has notably influenced culture, with Jimin proudly standing alongside esteemed performers such as Stray Kids, EMINEM, Chappell Roan, Beyoncé, Post Malone, SZA, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and many others.

The magazine pointed out that the K-pop sensation BTS has been on hiatus due to their national duties and military commitments. Nevertheless, the solo endeavors of its members have made a significant mark on international music charts.

BTS’ Jimin made his solo debut in March 2023 with the album FACE and followed up with his second album, titled MUSE, released on July 19, 2024. This album features seven tracks—Rebirth (Intro), Interlude: Showtime, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band featuring South Korean rapper Loco, Slow Dance featuring Sofia Carson, Be Mine, Who (the title track), and Closer Than This.

As per BIGHIT MUSIC, Jimin is credited as the composer and songwriter for six out of seven songs on the album. MUSE reached the second position on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, just behind Stray Kids. This notable achievement marks the first time two K-pop albums have ranked in the top 2 of the chart. The title track Who debuted at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Billboard Global 200 charts.

Additionally, Jimin’s album MUSE surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, making him the first K-pop solo artist to achieve this remarkable milestone with two albums.
