BTS’ Jimin Achieves Record with ‘WHO’ as Fastest Korean Song to Exceed 700 Million Streams on Spotify

Park Jimin of BTS achieved a remarkable feat with his recent single, WHO, setting the record as the fastest Korean track to accumulate over 700 million streams on Spotify. Released on July 19, 2024, as the lead single from his sophomore solo album, MUSE, it also made history by being the quickest song to clinch the top spot on both the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart and the European iTunes Song Chart across more than 111 countries within just one day of its launch.

The album MUSE dominated the iTunes Top Albums chart, reaching number one in over 87 countries, including notable markets like the U.S., the U.K., Hong Kong, Germany, and France. On the Billboard 200, it secured the second position, while WHO proudly stood at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global 200 (Excluding U.S.) charts.

Update on BTS’ Park Jimin’s Recent Endeavors

Jimin unveiled his first solo album, FACE, on March 24, 2023, featuring the hit track Like Crazy, which soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This achievement marked him as the first solo Korean artist to reach top position on the chart. Additionally, he was named the global ambassador for both Dior and Tiffany & Co.

On December 12, 2023, Jimin, alongside bandmate Jungkook, began his mandatory military service, with expectations for their discharge in June 2025. The label BIGHIT MUSIC (under HYBE) launched his second solo album, MUSE, and the single WHO on July 19, 2024. A pre-recorded performance of WHO debuted on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on July 23.

Notably, WHO became the inaugural K-pop solo track to maintain a position within the Top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive three successive weeks, having initially debuted at No. 14. Furthermore, the pre-released single from Jimin’s album, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (featuring Loco), exceeded 100 million streams on Spotify, marking it as the fastest song of 2024 to reach this milestone.

During July 2024, WHO topped the “Daily Top Songs Global”for four consecutive days and earned the No. 1 position on Spotify’s “Weekly Top Songs Global”chart.

On August 8, BIGHIT MUSIC premiered Jimin’s travel reality show, Are You Sure?!, available on Disney+. The series features 8 episodes showcasing Jimin and Jungkook as they explored a variety of locations including New York, California, Jeju Island, and Sapporo, diving into distinct cuisines and picturesque sights.

The final episode of the show aired on September 19, 2024, featuring a heartfelt message from the duo to their fans, promising their safe return from military service.
