During the Korean Series baseball championship game between the Samsung Lions and the KIA Tigers, j-hope threw the ceremonial first pitch. In his speech at the KBO Korean Series, he conveyed his joy about returning home after military service and expressed pride in making his first pitch at such a significant venue:

“It’s my first schedule as soon as I’m discharged from the military, and I’m proud to throw the first pitch in a meaningful place. I’m very happy to be back in my hometown after a long time. KBO Korean Series, fighting!”

On October 17, 2024, j-hope became the second BTS member to complete military service, following Kim Seokjin, also known as Jin, who was discharged on June 12. The other five members are currently serving their terms, with the group anticipated to reunite in the latter half of 2025 after their discharges.
