Bryce James hails DeZhon Hall’s “bag work” days after father LeBron James criticizes modern hoops term
Bryce James, the youngest son of LeBron James, is currently one of the most closely watched high school basketball players. This is not surprising, as his father is a legendary figure in the NBA and widely recognized as one of the greatest players of all time. Despite his lack of experience, many believe that Bryce possesses even more natural talent than his older brother, Bronny James.
The teenage son of the LA Lakers star is also a dedicated basketball enthusiast who frequently watches up-and-coming players. Most recently, he shared a video on Instagram of DeZhon Hall showcasing his impressive moves on the court. In his story, Bryce added the “bag”emoji and the word “work”as a caption.
Bryce James appeared to acknowledge Hall’s ability to take advantage of opportunities to score one-on-one against defenders. This statement was made shortly after LeBron James discussed on the “Mind the Game”podcast that basketball is not solely focused on individual skills. As the four-time MVP explained, having an advantageous matchup does not always require constantly playing one-on-one.
Despite having a favorable matchup, the former Cleveland Cavaliers superstar stressed the fact that in the NBA, players who are playing exceptionally well are often double-teamed. He made it clear that even in these situations, the focus should be on making the right plays rather than solely trying to score.
The term is commonly used to describe someone with impressive moves that can easily deceive defenders. It can also refer to their signature shots that leave defenses helpless. Examples of players with enviable skills, such as James Harden, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Anthony Edwards, are often mentioned in this context. However, LeBron James is not usually considered to be on the same level as these stars.
It is possible that Bryce James was impressed by DeZhon Hall’s ability to outmaneuver defenders and score. However, his comments on Instagram may not necessarily align with what his father discussed on his podcast. This contrast between the established superstar father and the up-and-coming son was quickly noticed by many.
Bryce James must improve his basketball skills, says father LeBron James
Despite not being ranked in the top 10 prospects for the class of 2025, Bryce James, son of LeBron James, is frequently scouted by talent evaluators. While there is a consensus that he has promising potential, there are areas of his game that he can improve upon.
Despite not possessing explosive athleticism or a flashy game, the Sierra Canyon guard is able to soar for dunks when the opportunity arises. However, he does not do so to simply impress the audience or scouts. Instead, he relies on his solid shooting mechanics, strong basketball IQ, and tenacity to excel on the court.
Bryce James is grateful to have his father, LeBron James, as a mentor on his basketball journey. He considers himself lucky to have such a great role model, as LeBron is widely recognized as one of the greatest of all time in the sport that Bryce is deeply passionate about.
