J. Cole Tackles Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s Feud in New Single
Earlier this year, Drake and Kendrick Lamar found themselves embroiled in a public dispute, releasing several diss tracks targeting each other. Some of these singles, like Not Like Us and Push Ups, achieved chart-topping success.
The rivalry notably originated from the single First Person Shooter, a collaboration between J. Cole and Drake, released in October of the previous year. Kendrick Lamar then directed his attacks at both artists within Metro Boomin’s track Like That, resulting in an array of diss tracks throughout the following months until May 2024.
In related news, J. Cole dropped a new track titled Port Antonio on his Instagram account on Wednesday, October 9, with lyrics reflecting on his decision to step back from the feud between Drake and Lamar. In the verse, he raps:
“I pulled the plug because I saw where that was ’bout to lead/ They wanted blood and clicks to line their pockets indeed/ They see the fire in my pen, thinking I’m avoiding smoke/ I wouldn’t lose a battle, dog; I would’ve lost a bro/ I would’ve gained a foe.”
According to recent updates, the documentary Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake, covering their feud, will be aired on Channel 4. The release date has yet to be disclosed by the producers, which include Acme Films and GroupM Motion Entertainment.
