“Bring a friend to work day” – Ana Ivanovic and Angelique Kerber reunite for stunning photoshoot, tease plans for music collaboration
Ana Ivanovic and Angelique Kerber have recently come together once again for a photoshoot and have also hinted at a potential musical collaboration in the works.
In 2006, Ivanovic rose to prominence after defeating Martina Hingis and claiming the Canadian Open title. Two years later, she won the French Open and achieved the top ranking in women’s tennis. However, due to persistent injury problems, Ivanovic announced her retirement in December 2016, unable to continue performing at her peak level.
Despite being a former World No. 1, Kerber remains an active player. She has achieved great success, winning three Grand Slam titles: the 2016 Australian Open, the 2016 US Open, and the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. In addition, she brought home a silver medal for Germany at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In August 2022, Kerber announced her pregnancy and took a break for over a year before making her return to the 2024 United Cup.
Ivanovic and Kerber, who are close friends, recently came together for a photoshoot. The Serbian athlete shared a video on her social media, showcasing the best moments from their photoshoot. The video also included a caption, posted by the 36-year-old.
“It’s “Bring a friend to work” -Day,”Ivanovic wrote in an Instagram post.
Afterward, Kerber took to social media herself to post a photo of her and Ivanovic together. In the caption, the German hinted at a potential musical collaboration between the two.
“Our new song is coming out soon,”Kerber wrote in an Instagram post.
Angelique Kerber Struggles After United Cup Win
Despite facing multiple singles losses while representing Team Germany at the 2024 United Cup, 36-year-old Angelique Kerber triumphantly returned to the world of tennis. She played a crucial semifinal match against Ajla Tomljanovic and emerged victorious, leading Team Germany to the final and ultimately securing their victory in the tournament.
Despite her previous success with Team Germany at the United Cup, Kerber’s performance has been lackluster. With the exception of the 2024 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, she has been eliminated in the first round of every other tournament she has participated in this season.
At the Australian Open, Danielle Collins was responsible for Kerber’s elimination. At the Linz Open, Lucia Bronzetti easily defeated the former World No. 1. However, at the recent Miami Open, she was defeated by 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens.
Kerber’s sole successful performance was in Indian Wells, where she advanced to the Round of 16 before ultimately being defeated by Caroline Wozniacki.
