Brandon Ingram Injury Update: Latest on Pelicans star’s status against Orlando Magic (April 3)

Brandon Ingram, the forward for the New Orleans Pelicans, will remain out of action for their upcoming game against the Orlando Magic. This will mark the second and last time these two teams face each other this season, with the Magic securing a 121-106 victory in their first matchup on March 22.

Latest on Brandon Ingram’s Injury Status

According to Sham’s Charania’s report, Pelicans head coach Willie Green stated on Monday that Ingram is gradually increasing his daily activities as he continues to recover from a left knee bone contusion. Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans also reported that Ingram has been observed running on a treadmill.

It is expected that Ingram will have a reassessment of his knee on either Thursday or Friday, which will mark two weeks since the initial injury.

If Ingram is able to come back within the next three weeks, he may be able to resume playing as soon as April 11 in Sacramento.

On the other hand, the Pelicans could choose to save him for the latter part of the back-to-back series, which is scheduled for April 12 at Golden State.

Participating in one half of the back-to-back series would give Ingram the opportunity to play in an additional game before the Lakers’ regular-season finale on April 14.

Following that, the Pelicans would either advance to the Western Conference Play-In Tournament or face a first-round playoff opponent.

The mysterious disappearance of Brandon Ingram

After revealing that he had hyperextended his left knee, the team confirmed the presence of a bone contusion through an MRI.

During Friday’s game against the Orlando Magic, Ingram sustained an injury in the third quarter while defending against Jalen Suggs. As Suggs attempted to pass him, Ingram’s knee gave out and he needed help to stand up. His teammates then carried him off the court.

In the time that he has been away, Trey Murphy and Zion Williamson have experienced a rise in their playing time.
