However, players should note that access to Sludgemaw is not immediate; the area must first be unlocked by completing a specific side mission.
To initiate the Sludgemaw encounter, complete the All Charged Up side mission, which becomes available following the completion of the Null and Void mission. Once both missions are finished, you’ll be ready to face Sludgemaw and claim the coveted Birt’s Bees SMG.
Farming Birt’s Bees Legendary SMG

Employing incendiary weapons is also recommended, as Sludgemaw has a vulnerability to fire damage. Given its singular red health bar, incendiary options can inflict significant damage, especially on higher difficulty settings.
