Boosie BadAzz Responds to Daughter Poison Ivi’s Condemnation of His Comments on Her Sexuality: “Never Meant to Hurt You”

During a recent panel at Revolt World 2024 on September 22, rapper Boosie BadAzz addressed the backlash following his daughter Poison Ivi’s criticism of his homophobic remarks regarding her sexuality. Boosie faced significant backlash after stating that he prohibits his openly lesbian daughter’s partner from visiting their home, expressing concerns about the influence on his other children.

“She still can’t bring her situation to our house. My daughter is grown—Because I don’t want it to contaminate her others [siblings]. It’s a generation we’re raising, and I don’t want her to get too contaminated for her other six or seven sisters who look up to her. I want them to bring me grandchildren the right way,”he explained.

Boosie BadAzz further elaborated on his stance, asserting that he aims to shield his other daughters from exposure to homosexuality, citing a family tradition where neither his grandfather nor father tolerated it.

As clips of his comments circulated widely on social media, his daughter Poison Ivi took to Instagram Live on September 27 to criticize her father’s statements. In response, Boosie shared a series of photos with her on Instagram, captioned:

“NEVER MEANT TO HURT YOU. DADDY BBY #Iloveu”

In a subsequent post, Boosie BadAzz emphasized that the internet wouldn’t define him as a bad father, asserting his love for all his children and sharing more pictures with Iviona, affirming they were “good”and “GOD GOT US.”

Poison Ivi Calls Out Boosie BadAzz for Discussing Her Sexuality

On September 27, during her Instagram Live session, Poison Ivi addressed her father’s remarks regarding her sexuality made during his guest appearance on Yung Miami’s Caresha Please! at Revolt World 2024. She stated that her father was “always speaking”about her sexuality despite her efforts to remain silent on the matter.

“He [Boosie] always speaking on my sexuality. The whole world knows that. And it’s been about two years now that I’ve kept quiet. I wouldn’t say anything … I just saw he recently did an interview with [Yung Miami] and he used the word ‘contaminating.’ And putting my siblings in it with that … I love and respect my siblings with everything in me,”she expressed.

She recounted a painful moment when Boosie referred to her as a “gay b***h”during a trip to Jamaica upon learning of her sexuality. Despite this, Ivi mentioned that she forgave her father for his hurtful comments, emphasizing her loyalty as his daughter.

While acknowledging that Boosie BadAzz isn’t a bad father, Ivi expressed frustration that he preferred to discuss their family matters publicly rather than privately. She also criticized him for not promoting her music career, stating that he always chose to focus on her being a lesbian rather than showcasing her artistic talents.

“If you broadcasted my music the way you broadcast me being gay, maybe I’d be further along than I am. But you’re so worried about me being gay you can’t even see my true talent,”she stated.

Before his comments at Revolt World 2024, Boosie BadAzz had previously discussed his daughter’s sexuality in a 2023 interview with DJ Vlad, acknowledging that while he and his family loved Ivi, they faced challenges in accepting her.
