Blink Twice marks the directorial debut of actress Zoë Kravitz, stemming from her vision in the American psychological thriller realm. Discovering the Plot of Blink Twice
The story of Blink Twice kicks off with Frida, who, alongside her friend Jess, is invited to a lavish private gathering. There, she crosses paths with the intriguing tech billionaire Slater King, and their conversation unfolds a bond that leaves her both astonished and delighted by his hospitality.
As she delves deeper into the circle of Slater’s acquaintances, Frida receives a once-in-a-lifetime invitation: a luxurious stay at Slater’s exclusive island. Once they arrive, the atmosphere is rich with extravagance—attendees, especially the women, are lavished with extravagant gifts, opulent accommodations, elaborate cocktail functions, and sumptuous dining experiences.
However, beneath this facade of luxury and enjoyment, Frida and Jess begin to sense an unsettling change; their memories seem to blur and fade. When Jess inexplicably vanishes, and the other women appear unable to recall her existence, Frida is forced to confront the eerie reality of their island escape.

Zoë Kravitz: A New Chapter in Directing with Blink Twice
Initially titled Pussy Island when Zoë Kravitz embarked on the screenplay journey in 2017, the actress announced her foray into directing in June 2021, collaborating with E.T. Feigenbaum for the script. Filming commenced on June 23, 2022, mainly in Quintana Roo and Yucatán, Mexico, as reported by The Yucatan Times.
In January 2024, the film’s title underwent a change due to the Motion Picture Association’s censorship guidelines. Discussing this with Entertainment Weekly on July 9, 2024, Kravitz shared insights about the challenges associated with the original title.
“Interestingly enough, after researching it, women were offended by the word, and women seeing the title were saying, ‘I don’t want to see that movie,’ which is part of the reason I wanted to try and use the word, which is trying to reclaim the word, and not make it something that we’re so uncomfortable using,”she explained.
She further elaborated:
“But we’re not there yet. And I think that’s something I have the responsibility as a filmmaker to listen to. I care about people seeing the film, and I care about how it makes people feel.”
Channing Tatum joined the main cast and met Kravitz for the first time during the project. Reflecting on their initial interaction, Tatum told The Hollywood Reporter at the Los Angeles premiere of Blink Twice in August 2024:
“It was pretty crazy, I didn’t know Zoe before she sent me the script. I never had met her before. I got a text from Riley Keough, she’s like ‘Hey, my friend Zoe wants to send you a script.’ I was like, ‘Great, I love Zoe as an actress, I’d love to act with her.’ I didn’t know she wanted to make this thing.”
