However, they are haunted by a curse that sees every man marry into the clan meet an untimely death, including Nanao’s father, who was the elder brother of Shunsui Kyōraku. Due to this bloodline heritage, members of the Ise Clan have never wielded their own Zanpakutō; instead, the family’s ceremonial sword, the Shinken Hakkyōken, is passed down. This ornate, blade-less sword is adorned with four diamonds along its length.
