On October 17, Rolling Stone published an engaging interview featuring BLACKPINK’s Lisa alongside Tyla, known for her hit “Water.”As the two stars shared a comfortable couch in Rolling Stone’s studio, they delved into topics such as their personal histories, cultural influences, and more. During their chat, Lisa opened up about her journey in creating her inaugural solo album.
Lisa revealed that while she typically collaborates with a single producer in Korea, she aimed to explore new avenues for her recent solo project. She expressed her desire to discover a different facet of herself in this process and extended her gratitude to RCA Records for assisting her in finding a producer. She also pointed out the challenges that come with working independently.
“It’s difficult. There’s a tremendous amount of pressure, but I strive to enjoy myself as much as possible. This time is fleeting, so I’m making an effort to have fun and embrace risks. Being part of a group means you have your girls who are incredibly supportive. If you’re uncertain, you can seek their advice, but when I’m on my own, it feels daunting,” she explained.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa also touched on the trials and tribulations she faces while working solo on her music.
“Is this the right choice or not? What am I supposed to do? That’s why I’m willing to take risks. ‘I trust my instincts, and I’m going to proceed with this.’ Ultimately, I just have to listen to my intuition. I’m pleased with how things turned out—if I’m happy with it, then that’s all that matters to me.”
