BLACKPINK’s Lisa Breaks Records as Most Nominated K-Pop Soloist at 2024 MTV EMA
Lisa of BLACKPINK has etched her name in history as the most nominated K-pop solo artist at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs). On October 8, 2024, the EMAs unveiled its nominees, and Lisa secured an impressive four nominations, which include categories such as Biggest Fans, MTV EMA Best Video, MTV EMA Best K-pop, and Best Collaboration.
For the MTV EMA Best Video and Best Collaboration categories, she earned nominations for her comeback solo track titled NEW WOMAN (featuring Rosalía), which dropped on August 15, 2024. Her fans celebrated as she made her mark as the first K-pop solo artist and the sole Asian female soloist to achieve such extensive recognition at the EMAs.
Following her victory in the Best K-pop category at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on September 12, excitement surged among her supporters regarding her potential success at the EMAs. One fan expressed,

BLACKPINK’s Lisa Continues Her Winning Streak as a Solo Artist
After ending her solo contract with YG Entertainment in December 2023, Lisa launched her own company, LLOUD, on February 7, 2024. She also revealed her upcoming acting role in HBO Originals’ The White Lotus Season 3, set to premiere in 2025.
In May 2024, Lisa entered into an exclusive deal with RCA Records, allowing her complete ownership of her creative work, including songs and albums. On June 28, she released her comeback single, ROCKSTAR, which made history as the K-pop solo artist video with the highest YouTube views within the first 24 hours of its release.
On August 15, she introduced her second single, NEW WOMAN (featuring Rosalía), which garnered over 24 million views in its first day, surpassing the record previously held by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish’s music video for Guess.
In July 2024, she was appointed the global ambassador for Louis Vuitton. Recently, the ROCKSTAR rapper made an appearance at Paris Fashion Week on October 1, where she mingled with stars like Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, and Ana De Armas.
