BLACKPINK’s Jennie Signs with Alta Music Group’s Talent Management Division Led by Former Spotify Executive Jeremy Erlich

BLACKPINK’s Jennie Joins Alta Music Group: A New Era in Artist Management

Jennie, a prominent member of the global sensation BLACKPINK, has recently inked a significant agreement with Alta Music Group, a new and dynamic talent management division. This innovative full-service music company was co-founded by Jeremy Erlich, the former global head of music at Spotify, and is poised to change the music landscape.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Alta Music Group integrates various services, including recorded music, music publishing, and artist management, all under one roof. Jennie’s decision to partner with the company on July 24 comes on the heels of her debut solo album, titled Ruby, which hit the shelves via Columbia Records in March.

Jeremy Erlich’s Vision for Alta Music Group

Erlich’s founding of Alta Music Group marks a strategic move nearly nine months after he parted ways with Spotify, where he initially served as vice president of music strategy before rising to the role of global head of music. Erlich boasts extensive experience, having spent eight years at Universal Music Group and Interscope Geffen A&M, where he excelled in corporate development and music strategy.

“Throughout my career, I’ve focused on the best way to service artists around the world that would create an environment that sets them up for long-term, global success. With Alta, we have the opportunity to do just that — a best-in-class team focused solely on supporting our artists and the music they create. Everything else does not matter, ”said Erlich.

Strategic Partnerships for Growth

Alta Music Group has already secured vital distribution channels through The Orchard, a division of Sony’s independent distribution arm. Additionally, the company has established a co-development and promotional partnership with THEBLACKLABEL, a label founded by renowned producer Teddy Park, famed for his collaborations with BLACKPINK and other K-pop stars. These alliances aim to enhance global visibility for Alta’s artists.

Jennie’s Co-Management with OddAtelier

As part of her new arrangement, Jennie will collaborate with her label, OddAtelier, allowing her to leverage Alta’s dedicated resources while maintaining her current support network. Her contributions to BLACKPINK have significantly bolstered the group’s status as one of the top-selling girl groups globally and have solidified her reputation as a pop icon in her own right.

Alta’s Artist-First Philosophy

The leadership at Alta Music Group reflects Erlich’s commitment to prioritizing artists. The team comprises seasoned industry professionals, including Nima Khalilian, Parker Ulry, Drake Hofer, Elise Eriksen, Gillian Taugher, and Michael Seltzer, each bringing a wealth of experience from significant roles at major music companies.

“ALTA is about putting artists first and helping them navigate an ever-evolving industry with a clear strategy, ”emphasized Nima Khalilian.

With the signing of high-profile artists like Jennie, Alta Music Group positions itself as a premier destination for top talent in search of hands-on management and global reach. Erlich’s extensive knowledge of artist relations and corporate strategy sets Alta apart, allowing it to challenge established management frameworks and foster sustainable growth for artists in today’s fast-paced music industry.
