BLACKPINK Announces Limited 2025 World Tour: Fan Reactions and Member Insights
BLACKPINK has officially revealed plans for their much-anticipated 2025 world tour. The tour itinerary consists of ten major stops, commencing in July in Goyang and concluding in January in Tokyo. This announcement was shared via the group’s Instagram on February 19.
Tickets for these eagerly awaited shows will be available for purchase starting February 27 through Live Nation, with sale times varying by market. This tour marks a notable reunion for the quartet—JENNIE, ROSÉ, JISOO, and LISA—following a successful period of solo projects. Their last joint tour, the Born Pink World Tour, spanned from 2022 to 2023.
Despite the excitement surrounding the tour, many fans expressed dissatisfaction with the limited number of stops, which are confined to prominent cities such as Goyang, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, and Tokyo. Comments on Instagram reflected this frustration, with fans questioning the adequacy of a ten-stop itinerary for a “world tour.”One user remarked, “That ain’t a world tour…”garnering over 4, 000 likes.
Another fan criticized the choice of locations, stating, “Is this the WORLD to do a world tour?? where’s the rest of it???”Furthermore, someone called out their label YG Entertainment, declaring, “Yg have you ever seen a world map?”Such sentiments echoed throughout the comment sections as fans lamented, “Always the same cities 😔.”
The tour teaser has not eased fan discontent. Comments such as, “The world is small for these k-pop artists. Calling it a world tour is hilarious 😂, ”highlight ongoing frustrations with the limited tour scope.
Members’ Focus on Solo Ambitions
Amidst the mixed reactions, the individual members of BLACKPINK have been keeping busy with their own projects. LISA recently contributed to the acclaimed series White Lotus. During her conversation with Billboard in November, she expressed strong support for her bandmates’ solo endeavors.
“We know each other so well and know how much energy we have to put into every single project. So we want to support and say, ‘You did really well!’ Like, JENNIE and ROSÉ just released their own songs, ”LISA shared, reflecting the close-knit bond they share.“They’re like family. I’m just so happy that they’re releasing something. This is what we all wanted to do, so I just wanted to say that I really do love their songs.”
In a separate appearance on Hot Ones, ROSÉ echoed this sentiment, discussing the group’s unwavering work ethic, stating, “Each one of us, we want such big things for ourselves and we work so hard every day.”She emphasized that even though they sometimes mention taking a break, it rarely reflects their actual intentions, saying, “BLACKPINK is really hardworking.”
As anticipation builds for the 2025 world tour, both fans’ concerns and the members’ dedication to their craft remain in the spotlight.
