Black Ops 6 Season 1 Launching on Nov. 14 with Infected Mode and Nuketown Arriving First

The highly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 took place on October 25, featuring a comprehensive single-player narrative, an engaging cooperative zombie mode, and the beloved multiplayer experience that the franchise is renowned for. With the initial launch completed, Treyarch and its dedicated network of support studios are now gearing up for post-launch content. Today’s update on the official Call of Duty blog reveals that the first season is set to provide “an immense quantity of free content.”

Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce new multiplayer maps, game modes, a seasonal zombie map, and a slew of additional content accessible to all players. Notably, Call of Duty: Warzone is also included in this extensive update, finally implementing the loadout and weapon mechanics from Black Ops 6, along with the popular Omnimovement system, enhancing player mobility significantly. More specifics regarding the season will be disclosed at a subsequent time.

While enthusiasts await further updates, the development team has two exciting surprises for players. First is the return of the classic party mode, Infected, which is now live in Black Ops 6:

For both new and returning players, an Infected match kicks off with one player randomly designated as the initial infected. The role of the infected player is to eliminate all remaining players. Each time a survivor is taken out, they will join the ranks of the undead, while the survivors must defend against the horde until the match timer concludes.

Given the focus on mobility in this edition, the swift infected players pose an even greater threat.

Additionally, the beloved Nuketown map makes its return, set to launch on November 1. This iteration is the very first version from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, released in 2010, and has been revitalized while retaining the classic 1950s aesthetic reminiscent of the Nevada testing site.

“The original Nuketown has always held a special place in my heart, particularly due to its creation and how the studio embraced it,”noted Adam Hoggatt, the map’s creator from Treyarch. “I recently realized that many of our current players have never had the chance to experience the original, so they will finally have the opportunity to feel the unique charm of Nuketown for the first time.”
