Black Ops 6 Preseason Patch Details

Discover all the new features found within today’s update for Black Ops 6:

Campaign

On the run. Betrayal lurks around every corner.

  • Black Ops 6 introduces an exhilarating single-player journey developed by Raven Software. The narrative continues from Black Ops Cold War, interweaving with flashbacks from the 1980s in Black Ops II to provide an adrenaline-filled storyline for both seasoned and new players.
  • This installment brings a dynamic mix of nostalgic and fresh characters, offering players a diverse cast to interact with across numerous global missions, each presenting unique choices.
  • Players can utilize “The Rook,”a customizable safehouse that not only prepares them for upcoming challenges but also allows for an in-depth look at the development of key characters throughout the campaign. Plus, the diverse arsenal features both new and iconic weapons and gear to enhance gameplay enjoyment.
  • As a bonus, completing the Campaign unlocks various rewards including a new Operator Skin, Finishing Move, multiple Weapon Blueprints to use in Multiplayer and Zombies modes, and much more.

Zombies

  • Classic round-based Zombies return at launch, featuring two exciting new maps: Terminus and Liberty Falls. The Dark Aether saga progresses as three Requiem operatives escape from their confinement on Terminus Island, aided by newcomer Maya Aguinaldo, all while dimensional breaches simultaneously occur in both the Philippine Sea and Liberty Falls, West Virginia.
  • **Important:** The Main Quest and all Side Quests for both maps will be live by 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST on October 25. Assemble your squad and be prepared; the Zombies team has tuned the difficulty, ramping up the challenge starting at Round 25 and beyond. Note that Der Wunderfizz will only appear post-Round 25. Plan your strategy accordingly.

Craving some Whimsical GobbleGums? Here’s how to earn them by successfully extracting at Round 15 or above:

  • Rounds 15-29: 1 Whimsical GobbleGum
  • Rounds 30-44: 2 Whimsical GobbleGums
  • Round 45 and above: 3 Whimsical GobbleGums

Multiplayer

With 16 fresh maps, Omnimovement, Wildcards, Combat Specialties, new Scorestreaks, and much more—Black Ops 6 Multiplayer is just around the corner!

Weapon Balance Adjustments

Significant updates to weapon balance have been made since the Beta, ushering in a new baseline of balance for launch. As always, weapon balance will be continuously tweaked based on player data and feedback.

  • During the Multiplayer Beta, a change to disable aim assist at short ranges was trialed. While moving in the right direction, it felt abrupt at close quarters. We’ve since refined this approach to gradually adjust aim assist strength, weakening it at extremely close ranges and organically increasing its effectiveness over distance. Ongoing monitoring and evaluations will follow.
  • Enhanced speeds for Pistol and Dedicated Melee swaps
  • Slight boost to Weapon Butt melee attack speeds
  • Modifications to weapon sway, bob, and overall motion for improved aim accuracy when aiming down sights (ADS)
  • Additional enhancements will be rolled out in Season 01
  • Improved Depth of Field effects for all Weapons
