In a November 2024 feature for Vogue, published on October 8, 2024, the 22-year-old artist highlighted her newfound preference for privacy, contrasting sharply with the candid dialogues she previously engaged in during interviews.
“I wish no one knew anything about my sexuality or anyone I’m dating. Ever, ever, ever. And I hope that they never will again. I’m done discussing my sexuality and my dating life,”Eilish stated.
Her remarks come on the heels of intense media coverage in 2023 when she appeared to make a revelation about her sexual identity during an interview with Variety. At that time, she spoke warmly about her love for women, prompting fans to perceive her words as an indication of her sexuality.
Although coming out was not her intent, Eilish later reflected that she had assumed her sexual orientation was already evident to the public.
