On Monday, October 14, BIGHIT Music issued a statement concerning BTS member j-hope and his imminent military discharge. The talented K-pop star, who began his military service in April 2023, is scheduled to complete his term on October 17.
As part of the announcement, BIGHIT MUSIC shared important details about his discharge, which included specific rules intended for fans. A portion of their statement reads:
“Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We are excited to share the news of j-hope’s upcoming military discharge. j-hope is nearing the end of his active service in the army and will be discharged soon.”
The agency specified that there would be no formal ceremony to mark the occasion. Instead, it will be a private gathering limited to close family and friends of j-hope. They urged fans to avoid visiting the military base to prevent any potential overcrowding or problems.
Additionally, excitement about j-hope’s return is not only from fans; his fellow BTS member Jin, who was discharged on June 12, also expressed his joy over j-hope’s upcoming release from military service.
Jin humorously shared his thoughts on Weverse regarding j-hope’s soon-to-be discharge, stating:
“jwehope you’re getting discharged? wow, time flies. back in my day… jwehope’s discharge? wow..”
BIGHIT MUSIC Confirms “No Special Events”for j-hope’s Military Discharge
BIGHIT MUSIC confirmed on October 14 that j-hope is approaching his discharge date. He was the second member of the renowned K-pop group to enlist and will also be the second to conclude his mandatory military duties.
Part of the official statement included the following:
“Discharge day is a significant occasion shared by many service members. No special events will be held on the day of j-hope’s discharge. Fans are strongly encouraged to refrain from visiting the site to avoid overcrowding.”
The statement concluded with heartfelt wishes:
“Please send your warm wishes and encouragement in your hearts. We are continually grateful for your unwavering love and support for j-hope. Our company will persist in doing our utmost to support our artists. Thank you once more for your dedicated love for BTS.”
BTS’ Jung Ho-seok trained at the Army A Division Recruit Training Center located in Gangwon Province and later served as an assistant training instructor after finishing his training in May 2023. After a year of service, the idol received a promotion in the South Korean military.
In May 2024, he achieved the rank of Sergeant at Camp Soldier Star, despite originally being expected to be promoted in July 2024. This early promotion was reportedly granted due to his exemplary performance and outstanding service.
With just three days remaining before his discharge, fans are eagerly anticipating j-hope’s return.
