On September 6, 2024, a controversial memoir purportedly written by Kim Porter, the late partner of music mogul Diddy, surfaced, crafted by Los Angeles-based producer Chris Todd. The book has been labeled ‘scandalous’ by The Daily Mail, with claims suggesting Diddy’s involvement in the murder of ‘The Notorious B.I.G.’ Wallace, more commonly known as Biggie.
Biggie was tragically shot and killed on March 9, 1997, in a drive-by attack in Los Angeles, and despite being just 24 years old at the time of his death, his murder continues to be unsolved. The alleged memoir from Kim Porter asserts that Diddy orchestrated the relationship between Biggie and Faith Evans, with the intent to keep tabs on the famous rapper. Furthermore, the memoir suggests that Evans always harbored suspicions about Diddy’s potential involvement in Biggie’s untimely death.
The memoir was published shortly before Diddy faced an indictment on three serious charges on September 16, 2024, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution.
Diddy and Kim Porter’s Children Reject Claims from Alleged Memoir
On September 25, 2024, the children of Kim Porter and Diddy—Quincy, Christian, Jessie, and D’Lila—took to Instagram to firmly deny the rumors surrounding the alleged memoir titled “Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side…”.
The children of the late rapper expressed their hurt over the spread of damaging and false rumors concerning their parents, their relationship, and the tragic circumstances surrounding Kim Porter’s death. They felt compelled to address these misconceptions publicly.
In a statement rejecting the notion that Kim Porter authored the memoir, Diddy’s children asserted:
“Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. Additionally, please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart.”
Kim Porter and Diddy were involved in an on-and-off relationship from 1994 until 2007. Porter passed away from lobar pneumonia on November 15, 2018, in Toluca Lake, California. Reflecting on their profound grief, Diddy’s children remarked on Instagram:
“Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world. And nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us so soon, the cause of her death has long been established.”
They concluded by stating:
“There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process. And we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day.”
Ending their statement, Diddy’s children expressed sadness over how the public has turned their family’s most tragic moment into a spectacle. They urged everyone to remember their late mother for “the beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was.”
In related news, Diddy’s attorney, Erica Wolf, provided a statement to PEOPLE on September 25, 2024, describing the purported memoir as offensive, fake, and “a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy.”
Wolf emphasized that the book misrepresents Kim Porter’s legacy and experiences, all while causing further emotional distress to her grieving family members. She also pointed out that two of Kim Porter’s children are still minors, lacking access to their father, who is currently detained and awaiting trial.
