“Beyond Trauma Bonding”: Love is Blind Season 7 Star Leo Discusses His Relationship with Brittany

The seventh season of Love is Blind provided an emotionally charged and unforgettable journey for the contestants who took part in this unique social experiment. One of the participants, Leo, faced heartbreak despite hoping he had found true love. Throughout the season, Leo found himself in a complicated romantic triangle involving Hannah and Brittany.

Ultimately, Leo became engaged to Brittany; however, their lingering issues ultimately led the producers to not include them among the final couples. In an exclusive interview with Tudum on October 3, 2024, Leo elaborated that his relationship with Brittany was not built on shared traumas. He expressed:

“We experienced numerous similar hardships, like being only children and losing our moms to cancer, but we were very conscious about avoiding trauma bonding. We’ve undergone several sad experiences, but that’s not the foundation of our relationship.”

Leo from Love is Blind Season 7 Discusses His Connection with Brittany in the Pods

During his interview, Leo reflected on the dynamics of the love triangle he was caught in with Brittany and Hannah. He described Hannah as his “female counterpart,”someone who could implicitly understand his thoughts. However, Leo observed that their discussions often skimmed the surface, lacking the depth and emotional connection he sought.

By the time Leo recognized this disconnect, Hannah had opted for Nick D as her partner, leaving Brittany feeling as if she were merely a “second choice.”Leo sought to reassure Brittany that his choice of her was not a fallback due to Hannah’s rejection. He remarked:

“There’s no way Brittany wouldn’t feel like a second choice. I was genuinely trying to demonstrate my feelings for her. I recall seeing her and thinking how beautiful she was. But I sensed that I didn’t exactly match what she was looking for. That was fine, but I could just feel it.”

Looking back at their initial meeting, Leo mentioned his worries about not fitting Brittany’s ideal. Nevertheless, he hoped to give her the opportunity to truly learn about him during their honeymoon, allowing them to explore their physical and emotional compatibility beyond the confines of the pods. He added:

“I was confident going in. I thought, ‘I’m a sure thing because of the love triangle, and I knew that I was more interested in Brittany than she was in me, especially when we first met, so I hoped for a chance to delve deeper into that.”

Reflecting on his Love is Blind journey, Leo realized that this experience has been pivotal in teaching him the importance of vulnerability and fostering a profound emotional bond. He emphasized the necessity of engaging in meaningful dialogue and forming a solid emotional connection with a potential partner, stating:

“While it exposed me to the risk of being hurt, I came to understand that this is the only way to truly discover the person I am meant to be with for life.”
