After a surprising turn of events has liberated you from incarceration in the Imperial City of Oblivion Remastered, you find yourself slipping back into a life of crime, pilfering anything that isn’t secured in hopes of amassing some much-needed gold.
However, you’ll quickly realize that in Cyrodiil, engaging in burglary comes with its own set of challenges. Standard merchants categorically refuse to trade in stolen goods, regardless of any efforts you make to improve your relationship through the affinity system.
Fear not; we’re here to guide you on where you can sell stolen items in Oblivion Remastered.
Locating Buyers for Stolen Goods in Oblivion Remastered
To unlock the ability to sell stolen items, your first step is to join the Thieves Guild. Complete the initiation process in the Imperial Waterfront around midnight to gain full membership, which will grant you access to various Fences spread throughout Cyrodiil.
Initially, your primary contact for selling stolen goods will be Ongar the World-Weary, located in the northern town of Bruma. As you advance within the guild, you’ll gain access to more affluent traders capable of moving larger quantities of stolen merchandise and offering more substantial payouts.
For your convenience, we have included an interactive map detailing the locations of all 5 Fences throughout Oblivion Remastered:
If you’re having trouble locating Ongar at the beginning of your journey, he can often be found at Olav’s Tap and Tack, a pub situated near the south gate of Bruma, just down from the statue plaza.
While Ongar is your initial go-to, there are a few additional unique shopkeepers who will accept stolen items. However, these options typically become viable only in the mid to late game when you’ve likely allied with the Gray Fox. These merchants include:
- The Innkeeper at the Inn of Ill Omen: Located south of the Imperial City and east of Skingrad. His inventory is limited to 50 gold unless you achieve Master rank in Mercantile.
- Jak Silver: You can unlock the Thieves Den at Dunbarrow Cove, located south of Anvil, and then purchase the Supplier upgrade from Dahlia.
- Khafiz: Similar to Jak, he can also be accessed by unlocking the Thieves Den at Dunbarrow Cove and acquiring the Fence upgrade from Dahlia.
