“Best company”- Martina Navratilova & wife Julia Lemigova enjoy family time with daughter Victoria and boyfriend; rue ‘missing’ younger daughter Emily
Martina Navratilova recently went on a family outing with her wife Julia Lemigova, their older daughter Victoria, and Victoria’s boyfriend Devin Craven.
Navratilova and Lemigova have been in a relationship for 18 years, starting in 2006. In 2014, during the US Open, the former World No. 1 proposed to Lemigova, and they were married on December 15 of that year. Lemigova also has two children from a previous marriage, Victoria and Emma.
Lemigova recently posted a photo on her Instagram story, showcasing the family spending quality time together. The picture captured Navratilova, Lemigova, Victoria, and her boyfriend gathered around a table. She also expressed their longing for their younger daughter, Emma.
“The best company. Missing @emma_lemigova,”wrote Julia Lemigova.
Similarly to Lemigova, Martina Navratilova is highly engaged on social media, regularly sharing her opinions on current affairs. Most recently, she vehemently disagreed with Pramila Jayapal, a representative from Washington’s 7th district, who asserted that the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act would have a detrimental effect on women and girls instead of safeguarding them.
The ex-World No. 1 has consistently voiced her opposition to the exclusion of trans women from competing in women’s sports. In response to Jayapal, she stated on her X (formerly known as Twitter) account that while everyone has the right to participate in sports, it is important to compete in the appropriate sex category.
“Can I have a word, Congresswoman? With all due respect- everybody can compete in sports- even trans people. In the proper SEX category. Thank you,”Navratilova wrote in response to Jayapal’s remarks.
Martina Navratilova on Expanding Her Family: “Julia Wouldn’t Mind Having Another Child”
Martina Navratilova shared during her December 2023 appearance on the “On with Kara Swisher”podcast that while her wife Emily Lemigova was open to the idea of adoption, Martina herself was not yet prepared to grow their family. This decision was influenced by Martina’s recent battle with cancer for the second time.
After her second cancer scare, the former World No. 1 expressed her desire to use her time wisely and determine what would be most beneficial for her.
Well, our girls, we have an empty nest just recently. So, you know, I was busy raising a family. Now, I’m not really sure. Again, with the cancer bout, you know, I really want to guard my time and try to figure out where best to put my energies. Tweeting is not it. I don’t know. But neither is golfing. Well, Julia wouldn’t mind having another kid. But I don’t know. We’ll see what happens on that front,”Navratilova said.
