AMD’s commitment to expanding its Zen 5 series, particularly within the mobile CPU segment, is evident as they introduce entry-level options. Although the release isn’t official yet, details surrounding one of the forthcoming “Krackan Point 2″chips have surfaced alongside its expected specifications and benchmark results. It’s important to note that the APU’s performance was evaluated using Geekbench, which primarily serves as a tool for assessing multi-threaded capabilities rather than a definitive measure of pure CPU performance. Nonetheless, the data offers invaluable insights ahead of the anticipated launch.

According to a recent post by @BenchLeaks, the Ryzen AI 5 330 has undergone Geekbench 6 testing, presumably configured within an Acer laptop. The results show a performance score of 1949 points in single-core tests and 7047 points in multi-core evaluations. This particular APU is structured as a 4-core/8-thread chip, incorporating a configuration of 1 Zen 5 core and 3 Zen 5c cores. This architecture closely resembles the Ryzen 3 7440U, which features a combination of 1 Zen 4 core and 3 Zen 4c cores, both designed for efficient mobile performance.

AMD Ryzen AI 5 330 Geekbench Test Results

The Ryzen AI 5 330 stands out with a varied range of core frequencies, boasting a base clock of 2.0 GHz and a boost clock that nearly reaches 3.7 GHz. Although its Thermal Design Power (TDP) remains unspecified, indications suggest it will likely fall within the 15-30W range akin to that of the Ryzen 3 7440U.

In terms of integrated graphics performance, the APU features a Radeon 820M, which is anticipated to be weaker than the Radeon 840M found in the Ryzen AI 5 340. While the Radeon 840M includes four GPU cores, it is speculated that the 820M may come equipped with even fewer cores, representing a potential downgrade from the 7440U’s capabilities.

Despite these challenges, this GPU is expected to be based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture, consistent with the other Krackan Point variants, and will primarily target basic graphical tasks. The Ryzen AI 5 330 is designed for integration into lightweight and power-efficient laptops and mini PCs, making it suitable for users engaged in everyday tasks, such as academic work or basic office operations.
