Welcome to the Bench-a-Thon!
The Bench-a-Thon initiative was inspired by our dedicated follower, Geno, also known as Genogerian Progerian. Originally devised to foster interaction among our readers based on their PC builds, we are thrilled to announce its return after several years.
For many of you who have accompanied us from the start, this event is a nostalgic opportunity to reconnect and showcase your builds; newcomers will find an exciting platform that highlights community engagement within the PC Master Race (PCMR).Each Bench-a-Thon revolves around a user-friendly benchmarking tool. This year, we’re featuring 3DMark Solar Bay Extreme, the most recent benchmark developed by UL Benchmarks.

Over the last nine years, the landscape of hardware has transformed dramatically. Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) have shifted focus from merely rendering graphics to handling various applications such as artificial intelligence (AI) — emphasizing the need for advanced computing capabilities. The 3DMark Solar Bay Extreme benchmark leverages native APIs like DirectX 12 on Windows, specifically designed for ray tracing workloads, enabling users to gauge their systems’ performance with current gaming titles.
