Below Deck Sailing Yacht Fans Slam Gary for Tender Crash Incident

The latest episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, season 5, debuted on Bravo on October 14. This thrilling installment showcased the crew aboard Parsifal III as they arrived in their destination, Ibiza. Viewers were treated to moments of culinary creativity from Chef Cloyce, who not only dazzled with his cooking but also displayed his skills in rapping. Meanwhile, stew Danni was seen charming the crew members of a club she was affiliated with.

In a turn of events, Gary, the first mate under Captain Glenn, faced backlash for crashing the tender. While navigating the small boat with a guest, Gary’s vessel collided with a rock, causing significant damage. He swiftly checked on the situation and promptly informed Captain Glenn about the accident.

However, fans of Below Deck Sailing Yacht were quick to take to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Gary’s negligence. Many highlighted that his distraction, stemming from flirting with his companion, contributed to the crash. Viewers were particularly incensed that Gary attempted to shift the blame onto Chief Stew Daisy.

“It’s outrageous that Gary is blaming Daisy for needing to bring swim trunks and pick up crew members… It’s your responsibility to operate the tender! Remember? The tender YOU CRASHED, prick,”one viewer expressed.

“Gary crashed the tender because he was distracted by flirting,”another fan argued.

“Gary’s need to impress the ladies literally led to the crash. His awkwardness around women always puts him in tricky situations. Yet, he’s still here,”noted a third user.

Some fans were vocal about Gary’s attempt to implicate Chief Stew Daisy in his mishap.

“It’s disappointing to see Gary blaming Daisy for his own blunders with the tender!”one commenter remarked.

“Gary has exclusive driving rights to the tender, yet he’s pointing fingers at Daisy. Gary is a disaster. Next, please,”another added.

“Gary, it’s ESSENTIAL that you transport both guests and crew in the tender!”a commentator emphasized.

Fans continued their critique of Gary:

“Did Gary really flirt his way into crashing the tender? Absolutely,”one Twitter user chimed in.

“Why is Gary upset with Daisy? This is part of the job; it’s frustrating but not her fault,”another fan noted.

Gary’s Tender Crash on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Episode 2

While aboard a nighttime cruise with a guest, Gary enjoyed their conversation about life on the yacht until disaster struck as the tender unexpectedly collided with a rock. He sheepishly noted this was his first crash ever.

In a confessional for Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Gary stated he had navigated the area “hundreds of times”without incident. Upon inspecting the damage on the tender, he discovered a hole, indicating that water was beginning to fill the boat.

Next, Gary approached Captain Glenn to report the unfortunate incident. The Captain confirmed that everyone was unharmed and inquired about whether the tender was at risk of sinking. Gary reassured him that, while there was bubbling from the dent, the inflatable structure was safe from sinking.

Captain Glenn later expressed in a confessional that although a hole in the tender wouldn’t cause it to sink, he had concerns regarding the potential for flooding in the engines. He mentioned that the tender was valued at €180,000 and replacing it would be necessary if the engines were completely submerged.
