Beats Expands Product Line with New USB-C Cables
When one thinks of Beats, a brand owned by Apple, the first images that come to mind are often premium headphones or powerful speakers. Now, the California-based company is diversifying its offerings with the introduction of its inaugural collection of USB-C cables, available in various lengths and vibrant colors.
Features of Beats Cables
These new Beats Cables feature a tangle-free woven construction designed for improved longevity and to minimize fraying. Available in lengths of 1.5 meters and 20 centimeters, these cables come in three configurations:
- USB-C to USB-C
- USB-A to USB-C
- USB-C to Lightning
Versatile Capabilities
According to a recent press release, the new cables are geared towards a variety of functions, including charging, syncing, audio streaming, CarPlay integration, and data transfer. They also feature automatic voltage regulation, which helps manage power delivery and protects connected devices from possible damage.
Compatibility and Charging Options
The USB-C to USB-C variant is compatible with a wide range of devices, including USB-C iPhones and Android smartphones, delivering fast charging capabilities up to 60W when paired with appropriate hardware. This versatility extends to other USB-C gadgets, such as Beats headphones, cameras, speakers, and gaming controllers.
While the USB-A to USB-C option can also ensure effective charging, it limits fast charging to just 15W on specific iPhone and iPad models. For users still relying on devices with Lightning ports, the USB-C to Lightning cable allows compatibility with iOS and iPadOS products, supporting fast charging on select models at an unspecified wattage.

Eco-Friendly Design and Pricing
Available color choices for the cables include Bolt Black, Surge Stone, Nitro Navy, and Rapid Red. Notably, Beats has committed to sustainability with packaging made from 100% plant-based materials that are sourced from recycled fibers and sustainable forests.
However, consumers should be aware that the data transfer speed is restricted to USB 2.0, aligning the specifications with Apple’s basic USB-C cable, which is priced at $19 and offers similar 60W fast charging along with USB 2.0 data throughput.
Availability
Beats Cables are priced at $18.99 for a single unit on the Apple Store website, irrespective of length or color variant. Additionally, a two-pack can be purchased for $34.99. These cables are set to launch on April 17.
